PP&S Metco Praxair Description Hardness Density
PA # 23 xxx29079 19868 A Copper base alloy containing Ni and Al. Gives wear resistant machinable Aluminum Bronze coatings. Has a better wear resistance than our PA # 3 and is used where coatings with higher wear resistance are recommended. Hardness: Rb 90-95 Density: 6.3 g/cc
PA # 33 43Cxxx A Ni-Cr alloy powder coatings of which are resistant to oxidation and corrosion at temperatures up to 1800degF. Coatings of PA #33 are easily machinable with Carbide tools. Used as an oxidation resistant undercoating for ceramics for high temperature oxidation resistant applications for buildup on Carbon and low alloy steels. Hardness: Rb 70 Density: 6.3 glcc
PA # 39 439Cxxx A Ni-Cr alloy powder coatings of which are resistant to oxidation and corrosion at temperatures up to 1800degF. Coatings of PA #33 are easily machinable with Carbide tools. Used as an oxidation resistant undercoating for ceramics for high temperature oxidation resistant applications for buildup on Carbon and low alloy steels. Hardness: Rb 70 Density: 6.3 glcc
PA # 44 56Fxxx A fine Ni powder which produces hard dense coatings for buildup on Ni and Ni alloy parts. Because of its very fine size, it can be sprayed with Plasma Spray system only. Can be used in place of Monel where harder coatings are required. Used for salvage and buildup of Ni and Ni alloy components. Hardness: Rb 70 Density: 7.9 glcc
PA # 45 55xxx A pure Copper powder used for electrical contact areas for higher conductivity and for RF shielding. It is also used for salvage and buildup of Copper and Copper alloy parts. Can be machined easily. Hardness: Rb 60-80 Density: 7.6 glcc
PA # 46 54xxx A pure Aluminum powder which produces coatings which have excellent electrical conductivity and RF shielding properties. Also used for buildup of Al and Al alloy components. Coatings can be machined easily. Also used for blowholes in Aluminum castings. Hardness: Rb 40-50 Density: 2.48 g/cc
PA # 64 9119666 29077 A low Carbon Iron powder. Coatings are machinable and have good wear resistance for lubricated service. Not specified where corrosion resistance is required. inexpensive material for heavy buildups or buffer layers. Can be finished to a fine finish. Hardness: Rb 20-29 Density: 6.9 glcc
PA # 65 92xxx A high Carbon steel powder in fine mesh size for dense, hard coatings for Plasma spraying. Can be finished by grinding only to a smooth finish. Inexpensive material for hard, wear resistant, high buildup coatings. Hardness: Rc 47 Density: 6.8 glcc
PA # 67 350Cxxx A high Carbon steel powder with a high percentage of Mo for Plasma spray applications for dense, hard, wear resistant coatings. Gives high bond strength. Can be ground to a very high finish. Resists abrasive grains, hard surfaces at low temperatures. Excellent machine element repair powder for miss-machined and worn out components where high wear resistance at low temperatures is required. Hardness: Rc 47-51 Density: 7.2 g/cc
PA # 101 15E10009 A Ni base self-fluxing powder material for hard facing with the Oxy-Acetylene torch. Produces dense, hard, grindable coatings which resist wear by abrasive grains, hard surfaces and particle erosion. Fuses to a very smooth finish. Can be finished by grinding only. Applications include brake drums, forging tools, exhaust valves and seats etc. Hardness: Rc 59-62 Fusing temp: 1875°F
PA # 102 16Cxxx A self-fluxing Ni base alloy powder for spray and fuse applications giving dense, pore free coatings. Resists wear by abrasive grains and hard surfaces, fretting and cavitation. Similar to PA # 101 but can achieve higher buildups without cracking. Good for forging tools, plug gauges, cam followers, exhaust valves and seats. Hardness: Rc 60 Fusing temp: 1950°F
